BE SMART workshop: software as a medical device

29 October at GAPR — find out whether your medical app or healthcare software needs certifying as a medical device, and how to prepare for it.

Join the next edition of the BE SMART workshops, organised by the MedSilesia Cluster and the Upper Silesian Agency for Entrepreneurship Promotion (GAPR). This time the topic is adapting medical apps and software to the requirements for certification as a medical device. Are you building a medical app or healthcare software? Wondering whether your product counts as a medical device and what you need to do to certify it? The workshop will give you the core knowledge and practical skills to navigate that path with confidence and without costly mistakes.

Led by: dr Małgorzata Gonsior-Kustosz — an expert in the design, development, research, certification and clinical implementation of innovative medical technologies. She holds a PhD in materials engineering and is a medical physicist; since 2007 she has worked in medical-device regulation and requirements, managing R&D projects, preclinical and clinical studies, and production, quality and sales teams — including for heart prostheses and endoscopy devices. Since 2021 she has been co-founder and co-CEO of DevGoMed, and is also responsible for regulatory compliance of the medical software built at Revolve Healthcare.

Aneta Kominek — Project Manager and co-founder of 2KMM sp. z o.o. — will also present "Validating IT tools for processing medical data, using GoResearch™.live as an example."

The workshop is aimed at companies, R&D units and universities working in the medical sector.
