The cluster delegation returns from Barcelona with a concrete action plan — study visits under the BRIDGE and UROI projects strengthen European collaboration in biotechnology.
From 16 to 19 February 2026 the delegation joined an intensive programme combining the Barcelona Health Tech Innovation Week, the Synthesis Tour and a study visit. Talks centred on the I3 Instrument's role in interregional partnerships and on aligning smart-specialisation priorities with investment.
A highlight was the tour of advanced biomanufacturing facilities across Catalonia — a clear illustration of how technological infrastructure paired with smart financing models drives commercialisation.
The Medical University of Silesia in Katowice took part in ATMP Day, dedicated to biotech innovation and the future of advanced therapy medicinal products.
